Acupuncture for Male Infertility

Low volume (count)?

Low motillity ?

Poor Morphology (shape)?

The male reproductive system is much less complex than the female. The 3 most important aspects of the sperm quality are sperm count, sperm motility and sperm morphology. Sometimes one aspect, or all three can be responsible for male infertility.

Western medicine can offer little in terms of improving male infertility or sperm quality but can be helpful when surgery is required to correct a physical disfunction in the system.

A selection of treatment and diet advise helpful with improving male infertility and all three important aspects of the sperm.  Initially I always recommend that 5 weekly treatments are given prior to a sperm analysis. Sometimes more treatments are required but to date I have found that this amount of treatment may help to  improve things for some men.

Many men ask me where the needles have to be inserted for male infertility treatment and they are usually surprised to find that most points used are in the legs, feet and back. The needles are not painful, they are a about as thick as a horse hair and about half an inch long. Sometimes the needle insertion will cause a slight tingling sensation but the treatment as a whole is very relaxing.

Male fertility hormones

  • FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone, necessary for sperm production)
  • LH Luteinizing hormone (stimulates production of testosterone required for sperm production)
  • Testosterone (triggers development of male sexual characteristics)
  • Inhibin (a hormone that regulates FSH levels)

Low sperm count is one factor that causes infertility, another is medical complications. Any kind of testicular, prostate or sexual dysfunction can create problems that affect the fertility in men.

Other areas that may cause male infertility include cancer and undergoing cancer treatment like radiation and chemotherapy as these can hinder or even kill sperm production.

Exposure to high temperatures such as being in a sauna, hot tub or even using a laptop can all destroy sperm. Hormonal imbalance can also be caused by excess alcohol use, eating soy foods and high levels of stress.

Impotence or the inability to have an erection (erectile dysfunction) may also be caused by injury or disease that damages blood vessels or nerves that signal blood flow to the penis. Examples may include atherosclerosis, diabetes, spinal cord injury, surgery and even some psychological factors.

Retrograde ejaculation is when semen discharges through the urethra. when semen discharges through the bladder. This condition results in a “dry orgasm” and has been linked to diabetes, surgery and certain kinds of prescription drugs, even those that are used to treat hypertension.

Excess infections of the male reproductive organs are often caused by sexually transmitted disease and these are considered to be a main cause of male infertility. Infections can often easily go untreated and this causes blockages, scarring and potential damage to reproductive organs.

Along with leaving it until later in life to have a child, other factors that cause declining sperm rates and infertility include eating nutrient-deficient foods, over exercising, smoking, stress, alcohol abuse, excessive caffeine and use of prescription and/or recreational drugs.

Consuming foods high in sugars and carbs can cause blood sugar levels to spike. When these levels are high, this can create inflammation in the body. Inflammation can prevent adequate blood flow to the organs (such as the penis), meaning that an erection isn’t always possible so that the semen and the sperm can be pushed out

Keeping a cell phone in your pants pocket could also play a risk. In 2014, University of Exeter scientists found that men who keep their cell phone in their pant pocket may be compromising their fertility.

Sperm motility and viability of 1,492 samples was found to have fell by 8 per cent on average, following this mobile phone exposure. Researchers also pointed out that most adults worldwide own a mobile phone, and more high income couples are having trouble conceiving.

The Quantogram Hologuard Phone Radiation Harmoizer (see below) can provide complete protection for you against the dangers of WiFi. This makes it safe to wear and can protect against any potential health risks for your prostate. Keeping your phone in your pocket or about your person once the Quantogram Hologuard is applied, is therefore recommended.

An All Natural Solution

Sperm is made by glands such as the prostate and is stored in a duct called the vas deferens. The sperm are stored in the epididymis until they are fully developed – this is located on the back part of the testis, the male’s reproductive organ.

The prostate gland is the male reproductive organ whose main function is to secrete prostate fluid, one of the main components of semen. The muscles of the prostate gland help to propel this seminal fluid into the urethra during ejaculation.

Finding relief for male fertility problems is possible when you take good care of the prostate, by following a dedicated male fertility health plan. Serrapeptase and Curcumin to clear inflammation and boost the anti-inflammatory process in the prostate. Also consider taking the following nutrient recommendations:

Vitamins A, E, B2, B6 and D3, Saw Palmetto, Zinc, Selenium and Ubiquinol – Studies show all of these nutrient may help to maintain good prostate health in the long-term.
